Our grass because of over 400% increase in cattle running with great increase in elephant, etc What @GeorgeMonbiot & fans calls anecdotal because academics agree with one another that something they have never studied & don’t understand is not supported by science!

Increasing production of current animal protein sources to feed a growing world population is not environmentally sustainable. Edible insects are a more environmentally friendly and sustainable way to meet the increased demand for protein. Watch here: youtu.be/rEcCK1KPO6E

@buckleytadhg @IFAmedia One form of carbon is from fossil fuels and the carbon released by the cows was sequestered from the atmosphere days weeks and months before hand. One is a carbon cycle the other is net emissions

Interesting to compare the emissions of large Irish facilities with dairy cows using Climate TRACE data. In 2021 the top 7 facilities in Ireland emitted as much as 70% of the total dairy cows in Ireland. Reinforces why we need a balanced debate in this area.

@LeoVaradkar You've lost alot of votes, closing down at Christmas for a milder version of covid. The three clowns running this country love the power. We are well able to think for ourselves and don't need you thinking you're saving us.

420 in hospital today. Down 40% from peak a few weeks ago. We were winning the fight against Delta. Now Omicron is coming when we are at our most vulnerable - winter, Christmas, flu season. It’s a cruel virus.

Feel relieved that I have a restaurant booked for six of us for 8.30 tonight. Might be last night out for the year. Was out last night too and was surprised by how quiet it was. People are making choices for themselves. Surely that is one of the points of vaccination?

@barrydavislouth He loved being up front with you Barry on our European/UK trips. The craic in the minibus was the highlight of those trips. Great memories I'll have forever.

The world for anyone who knew him is a lesser place with the loss of this great man. I’m proud to have known him and called him my friend. Rest in peace Phil. DA Rules 😉

@BaseIreland Such a great man with lots of knowledge and lots of devilment. Great memories of bases trips to Europe and the UK with @barrydavislouth at the wheel and Phil up front. You'll be terribly missed brother Phil. Sympathy to his family and friends at this time

It's with great sadness and heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Philip Reck, a true pioneer in farming and once our selfless leader. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis

@Irishwildlife What is the 21st century approach to our rivers? I have a cover crop here that is alive with birds. Big and small. It wouldn't be much use underwater.

The Arterial Drainage Act of 1945 mandated what is now the OPW to undertake *and maintain* catchment wide drainage works in order to create more farmland (all the blue lines on this map). This must be repealed if we are to adopt a 21st century approach to our rivers.

All cover crop treatments except one show a positive yield increase, 4/4 broadleaf species show significant yield increase in the following barley crop yet by some miracle of data misinterpretation @TeagascCrops have managed to put a negative spin on this slide 🤷‍♂️🤯. OMFG

Slide on left @teagasc presented yesterday. It takes great skill to be so negative about such positive results. Slide on the right is how it should have been done. Imagine what results they could find in a multispecies cover

@CalCommons How's about you let people make their own life decisions about how they like to deal their emissions? You would be far better to stop eating gm soya beans brought in from south America.
