In the light of the recent events, here's my take. Haters will hate, that's what they do. I am here to support real builders and the COMMUNITY and I will fight for it! Big moves by @XoxnoNetwork to clean up the marketplace! By sending back "Scams, dead projects, wash trading, and no-volume generators were returned to their owners." they are prioritising quality and integrity for the @MultiversX community. XOXNO is not closing down (at least not yet) so useless jpegs with no trading volumes or wash trading were sent back to their owners (they can use another marketplace they've been pushing lately, so no idea why they cry about it). To those calling Mihai Eremia @mihaieremia a "scammer": you're either completely out of the loop or just plain ignorant. Mihai's contribution to building this ecosystem is undeniable. He's a hard-core builder (not many on our chain), not a bad actor. Let’s support the people actually pushing the space forward. 🦫🛠️

Xoxno Network’s Mass Delisting: A Textbook Case of Centralized Overreach That Decentralized Ecosystems Must Reject On March 16-17, 2026, Xoxno Network (the dominant NFT marketplace on MultiversX) triggered community panic by quietly unleashing “automated scripts/agents” that slashed listed collections from roughly 4,000 to just ~140 — a 96% purge. Their official clarification? “Scams, dead projects, wash trading, and no-volume generators were returned to their owners.” What they didn’t say — and what their own Terms of Use quietly admit — is that this was no neutral cleanup. It was raw, unilateral corporate power exercised without notice, without transparency, without appeal, and without regard for the very principles MultiversX claims to champion. Let’s be brutally clear: this is not decentralization. This is a VC-backed Romanian SRL (XOXNO NETWORK S.R.L.) playing God with an entire ecosystem’s discoverability. ### 1. The Legal Smoking Gun: They Explicitly Reserved This Power From Xoxno’s own Marketplace Terms of Use (still live at xoxno.com/terms.pdf): > “XOXNO reserves the right to amend, update, or remove NFT Collections and associated content from the Marketplace at its discretion, without prior notice.” Creators must obtain “prior approval from XOXNO” just to publish. The platform grants itself the right to “unilaterally determine whether you have violated any provisions and take actions (without your prior consent or notice)” including “the removal of the relevant NFT Collection.” This isn’t a bug. It’s the business model. Xoxno positions itself as “the All-In-One MultiversX NFT Marketplace” and “Super app built for… full control.” The irony writes itself. ### 2. The “Best Collections” Collateral Damage You’re right to call this out. The purge didn’t just nuke obvious rugs. Community voices (including high-volume ProjectX_DAO affiliates who questioned whether even top-3 monthly / top-6 yearly volume collections were spared) point to legitimate, community-backed, artistically strong projects being wiped. “No-volume generators” is the tell. In a young ecosystem like MVX NFTs, many of the best collections — thoughtful art, real utility experiments, loyal holder bases — start with low volume by design. They build organically. Xoxno’s script didn’t wait for market signals; it applied a top-down death sentence. Result? Holders woke up to delisted assets, sudden liquidity evaporation, and forced returns to wallets with zero warning. Creators who spent months building on MVX now see their work erased from the primary discovery layer. This isn’t “cleaning house.” It’s arson on the house you convinced everyone to live in. ### 3. The Philosophical Betrayal of Decentralization MultiversX markets itself as fast, secure, and decentralized. The blockchain itself is permissionless — anyone can mint and own NFTs forever on-chain. Yet the dominant marketplace treats that permissionlessness as optional. One company’s opaque algorithm now decides what exists in the public eye. True decentralized ecosystems weed out exactly this behavior: - Bad projects should die through market forces — zero buyers, community rejection, competing marketplaces (FrameIt, Krogan Swap, etc. still exist). - Discovery should be permissionless and plural — multiple front-ends, on-chain analytics, user filters, DAO-governed indexes. - Gatekeepers should be impossible — not glorified with “automated agents” and “prior approval.” Xoxno’s purge proves the opposite: one entity can still choke the entire visible NFT economy on MVX.
