The past days have been focused on squashing bugs and making sure the experience feels solid before opening the floodgates. So far, so good. 🌱Play As Me – Developer Diaries Vol. 7 – Sustainable Design It’s quite easy to make a game feel rewarding but much harder to make it sustainable. One of the biggest mistakes in Web3 gaming? Printing the native token as the main in-game reward. It feels amazing at first. Players earn. Numbers go up. Everyone’s happy. Until inflation becomes too much. Too many emissions → too much sell pressure → price weakens → rewards feel worthless → players leave. You can see examples of this all over the Web3 gaming industry. That’s why we don’t use $A1X as a raw gameplay reward token. Yes our token has been hit hard by the current market – but think about how much WORSE it would have been if we handed out the token left, right and centre. $A1X is ecosystem infrastructure. It powers payments, staking and future SDK incentives, governance & marketplace activity. It’s not something we inject into mini-games every time someone finishes a level. Game rewards should be driven by: - Progression - Skill expression - Cosmetic upgrades - Internal game loops Not token inflation. (And yes - crypto implementation guidelines in mobile ecosystems also limit how that can be structured anyway) Sustainable design means: • Controlled emissions • Real revenue from Web2-style mechanics • Token utility tied to value creation • Long-term alignment over short-term hype Games should always be FUN FIRST.
