@AyersRefTracker Ah, but I’m talking about the case where Off jumps into the body of a vertical Def and causes Def to bend or have his arms come down. (GL staying completely vert when someone jumps into your chest/gut.)
Def jumping into Off or initiating loss of vert is clearly Def foul.

Like this play? This is a play-on 100 out of 100 times. The defender couldn’t be more straight up. Just because the offensive player falls and the Virginia bench is (incorrectly) going nuts doesn’t mean it’s a foul, because this isn’t a foul.

@AyersRefTracker Picking your brain: Def completely vertical (like this play). Off, instead of jumping more up toward rim (like this play) goes up but more pronounced angle into Def’s chest/midsection, causing Def to buckle. Call is?

@AyersRefTracker Stuffed largely evened out. Not sure if that’s the definition of “totally fine.” Duke had the better whistle early 1H; Virginia had it late 1H. Nothing too, too crazy in 2H, just a call here or there. Game was decided by players making/not making plays, as it should be.

The officials were totally fine in this game. Takes like this are just silly.
Save the referee complaints when there’s actually legitimate issues, which this game didn’t have at all.

Fouls not called & shooting vs. nonshooting fouls matter. 2nd, I never claimed there was a crazy disparity. I said verticality wasn’t called consistently. Reading comprehension matters, too.

For poll purposes, weekend series matter FAR more than midweek games.
There is a general recognition among pollsters that midweeks are for keeping your hitters/fielders in rhythm & finding work for some pitchers down the depth chart.

Some how @d1baseball couldn’t figure out how to rank UVA from preseason thru 3 weeks of play. Now suddenly Wahoos jump all the way from D1’s unranked to #14. This comes off a week when Hoos were shelled in a Tues game vs Charlotte. Curious process. Baseball America that’s ranked Hoos from the start has them at #9 up from #11. ⚾️ 🔶⚔️🔷

That’s incorrect. The regular season title is based solely on record. If Duke lost its last two and ended 15-3 tied with UVA, they would be co-champions. The tiebreaker only applies to ACC Tournament seeding. That said, Duke has locked up the No. 1 seed in the ACCT

FYI, Duke won the ACC regular season today, it is NOT a share. We could lose both games to end the season, would be tied with UVA then it’s H2H and that was settled today.
