🚨 Most AI newsletters are simply advertisements that are trying to monetize you. I spent ~20 hours last week analyzing the top 10 AI newsletters by publicly reported subscription counts and found the following interesting insights: 1. Average words in a newsletter: 737 2. Content breakdown (word percentage) 🗞️ Curated content (news, product launches): 52% This is regurgitated content. 💰 Sell something (e.g., ad slots - "book ad slot"): 18% Asking readers to book advertising slots - main slot, secondary slot, product promotion, etc. Basically, selling their own newsletter service to you. 📢 Promoted content: 15% Promoting products that have paid them $$$ 🙌 Welcome message: 14% Intro message on what is included in the newsletter Often times the promoted links are NOT marked as sponsored. They are simply top links 🤣 🤔 New insight: <1% Doing real analysis, coming up with new insights or take on AI. Unfortunately, almost no one has this information. 👉 If you are subscribed to any AI newsletters... Just open the recent ones and see if you are learning anything new or just being "monetized". 🙃

Why does it feel that newsletter quality is inversely proportional to newsletter size? I've seen so many AI newsletters start with good content, gain momentum, grow their email list, and then start sharing the same regurgitated junk.
