@lfc6775 @GregorRoberts0n It doesnt make any sense, they are just covering up what we all can see and using it as a get out for making the wrong decision

@GregorRoberts0n Keep reading on here that the Raya 'foul' trumps everything that comes before it. How does that make sense? So if a player is fouled but then the goalie is fouled immediately afterwards then only the GK foul counts?

@38Games0Defeats @jimmywalker001 I am not saying its not a possible foul, I think there are other fouls before it. You are as thick as shit to not see them. Definitely not 90% of my football world thinks the same as you. Now move along yourself and clap another long throw or corner.

Carraghers just gone back 3 yrs to find one that Arsenal got a goal chalked off...the other 3 examples 'the gk should do better' 'not fouls!!!'...even tho Martinez wore a Gabriel elbow in the grid on one of the said examples 🤯🤯 Mind blowing stuff 🙈🤷‍♂️

@fazzamania @tomrenniesoccer @WHUFC_News He didnt pull his arm, his arm is resting across the keeper. The keeper had full control over his arms but made a mistake. I suppose Raya also got his knees taken away from him when he crumbled after his mistake.

@tomrenniesoccer @WHUFC_News I don’t even believe he pulled Raya’s arm. If he really did pull his arm, he wouldn’t be able to lift it. He applied no pressure, which is why Raya could still go for the ball with both hands.

The foul. From Trossard. That informs everything that Pablo does in that sequence. Is “nothing”. It’s “nothing”. Not looking at the ball. Holding Pablo by the waist. Pulling him down. Preventing him jumping for the ball. It’s “nothing”. I give up with these people.

🗣️ Kavanagh: "I can see the clear holding on him" Howard Webb says the controversial decision to disallow West Ham United’s equaliser against Arsenal was “categorically” the right call as the audio exchange is released. Read the full transcript 👇 telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/…

@pagrev @jimmywalker001 I certainly & Brentford potential red card. All 3 were 10000 x worse than a correct decision in our game. Barely any of your fans nor media are speaking bout that game.

@JJohnLGA @tomrenniesoccer Just say you don’t know the rules. Directly from IFAB Law 5.3: If two fouls happen at once, the ref punishes the more serious one. Holding Raya’s arms in the 6 yard box is a massive tactical foul.

They know it’s a foul by Trossard. Referee dismisses it, as he’s already had his mind changed for the foul by Pablo, which he initially dismissed, but has now been talked around on. They all know it’s a penalty. But they think it’s flip flopping on too many decisions.

As an Arsenal fan, I can't lie, we've been grappling and wrestling goalkeepers all season. I can understand why West Ham and football fans in general are angry. Plus all the other fouls in that incident.. hope we still win the league but the anger is fully justified

@WHUFC_News They are so desperate to keep Spurs in this league ahead of you lot mate…. Over 13mins of injury time and the ref looked like he was waiting for Spurs to get the winner, and when the ball was cleared and Leeds had it he blew for FT.. good luck against the Toon

Let me help you all clarify : During a corner kick, the ball is typically in the air or being delivered, so the foul usually involves an attacker pulling, holding, or impeding the goalkeeper’s movement as he tries to claim or punch the ball. If this foul occurs in the build-up to a goal: • The goal is disallowed. • Play restarts with a direct free kick to the defending team (from the location of the foul, often inside the penalty area). Simple shirt-tugging or brief contact does not automatically qualify as a foul. The contact must impede the opponent’s movement or ability to play the ball. theifab.com PGMOL’s Application and Guidance (Premier League Specific) PGMOL (the body responsible for refereeing standards in English professional football) issues a Competition Guidance Handbook each season with detailed principles for officials and VAR. For 2025/26, there is enhanced focus on holding and grappling at set pieces (including corners), following feedback from clubs, players, and captains. The aim is greater consistency while maintaining a high threshold for penalising contact—not every bit of physicality is a foul. resources.premierleague.pulselive.com Key principles for challenges on goalkeepers (directly from PGMOL guidance): • All players have a right to their position on the field; simply being in the way is not the same as moving into the way. • High threshold for penalising contact (foul). • Clear action and impact are required. Considerations for penalising (i.e., when it becomes a foul): • Attackers who only focus on the goalkeeper and pay no attention to challenging for the ball, where the contact clearly impacts the goalkeeper’s ability to make a save or challenge for the ball. • Unfair contact that involves no attempt to play the ball and/or a non-footballing action. • Sustained or impactful holding (e.g., pulling with both arms, dragging the keeper, or holding that restricts movement). • Examples of what tips it into a foul: the attacker is not looking at the ball, uses both arms, or the action clearly prevents the keeper from reaching the delivery. What is usually allowed (play on): • Mutual or simultaneous actions (both players grappling similarly). • Fleeting contact with no material impact on the keeper’s ability to play the ball. • Legitimate attempts to challenge for the ball alongside incidental contact. This guidance applies equally whether the foul is by an attacker on the goalkeeper (as in the West Ham vs Arsenal incident you referenced) or in other set-piece grappling. The emphasis in recent seasons has been to reduce “extreme non-footballing actions” at corners while avoiding over-penalisation. resources.premierleague.pulselive.com VAR’s Role in These Incidents VAR does not re-referee every corner. It only intervenes for clear and obvious errors (or serious missed incidents) in the four main reviewable categories, including goal/no goal decisions. In practice for corner-kick fouls on the goalkeeper: • The on-field referee makes the initial call (or misses it). • VAR reviews the build-up to any goal using multiple camera angles and slow motion. • If VAR identifies a clear and obvious foul (meeting the PGMOL criteria above) that the referee missed or misjudged, they recommend a review. • The referee may then go to the pitchside monitor or accept the VAR advice. • Outcome: Goal disallowed + free kick to the defending team.

🚨 JUST IN: West Ham are set to contact referees’ body PGMOL after their late equaliser against Arsenal was disallowed. The club will raise concerns and request further clarification over the controversial decision. West Ham will also ask for the audio between referee Chris Kavanagh and VAR Darren England. [@BBCMOTD] More clubs need to follow this approach if the league genuinely wants to eliminate bias and deliberate inconsistency in refereeing decisions.

Genuine question. If three fouls on West Ham are either before or at the same time as the "foul" on Raya and we then score. A penalty should be awarded but because we scored should the goal be allowed to stand?
