To avoid potential confusion and trademark concerns, PayID is being rebranded to PayString. Like a string of connections, PayString continues to make the world of payments more connected and interoperable. Join us at PayString.org.

@lukestokes Sounds like we have a similar agenda. Although we're not here to attack other projects. We think FIO is great. We just took a different approach.

@payid_org Agreed, centralized exchange addresses are not self sovereign and Iโ€™ve been trying educate people about that since early 2013. Liquidity swaps might eliminate that centralization. My agenda is keeping cryptocurrency decentralized, self-sovereign, uncensorable, and secure.

I think by end of year 2021, using public keys to send/receive crypto will no longer be the norm. Human readable names via FIO will be awesome once the network effect gets going. โ€œremember the days when you had to use 30 digit random numbers?โ€
FIO Protocol@joinFIO

๐Ÿ“ฃ Our friends at @BitMax_Official have become the first exchange to eliminate the need for users to see, or even know about, blockchain public addresses with their integration of the #FIO Protocol. This is a momentous step in usability for all of #blockchain! ๐Ÿš€

@lukestokes Crypto addresses on any centralized exchange, where majority of people store their crypto, are not self sovereign (like email). Happy to talk more, but you clearly have an agenda here, and provoked this discussion (and blog post), out of fear.

@payid_org Huh? Are we talking about the same thing? Cryptocurrency addresses are completely self sovereign (unlike email). Rotating addresses is a good thing, handled easily by FIO and bundled transactions. How about we schedule a live stream with tech teams to discuss FIO vs PayID.

@lukestokes Blockchains are definitely vendors. Yes, they are decentralized. But they are still vendors. In order to send, receive, or build on Bitcoin or Ethereum, I have to have BTC or ETH. That's a classic vendor requirement.

@payid_org A blockchain is not a vendor. Technology protocol lock-in maybe, but no diff than PayID. Bitcoin/Ethereum/EOS are not vendors. A PayID address seems to lock you into the vendor of that domain/webserver unless you run your own. Running your own is not feasible for most people.

@HamEggsnSam @ErikVoorhees @payid_org I have some thoughts on PayID here you may find interesting: @fioprotocol/does-payid-violate-our-blockchain-rights" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">peakd.com/blockchain/@fiโ€ฆ Tokenizing a full value routing protocol (FIO is not just a DNS lookup) enables its secure decentralization. Nothing on a blockchain is free.

@payid_org Your reply is high in milliseconds but that could be due to some packet loss on my end. Glad to see you are still up and did not leave today to setup shop on Mars!

@FarazYaqeen You can start by running a server, and yes you can link an individual address for every payment network. #run-a-payid-server" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.payid.org/#run-a-payid-sโ€ฆ
