. @Issaamro who featured in The Settlers has posted videos of his latest harassment by settlers and soldiers. Our team has been in regular contact with him since the documentary and over the last 24 hours. We are continuing to monitor the situation.

The soldiers raided my house today, they wanted to revenge from me for participating in the @BBC documentary “ the settlers” , after the army left the settlers raided my house, they injured one activist and cut the tree, they stole tools and the garbage containers. The Israeli police officer came to threaten me not to file a complaint if so I will be arrested for trying to push the settlers outside my house. It is #apartheid

@atticusfinch104 Absolutely- He must have made many people, particularly the Irish, lives miserable. At a time where misery was heaped high. The history of Salford Cathedral and that local fear driven rivalry is fascinating though and would be interesting to research in detail.

@peterohir for a Christian his actions - such as judging people who liked to practice their faith differently - was rather hypocritcal of Stowell. In Hard Times this was ridiculed by Dickens

William Turner (1799–1872) was the first Bishop of Salford from 1851 to 1872. He lost a tenth of his clergy through fever contracted during their service of the sick. Even so, he increased the number of parishes from 30 to 70 during his time of office. #Manchester #History

I don’t remember Cheltenham festival being mentioned at all for much of my life. It was niche for those interested. Until covid. Now it seems to be everywhere - I don’t think it’s a good thing. Gambling has become ubiquitous.

No photo. But pretty cool seeing HS2 supports and scale of construction as it gets ready to cross m6 toll. We need it up here.

@kradlum Yeah - it’s a massive shame. It seems like the simple bit too. They already have the results digitally that are being displayed. Just need to post them. There’s clearly a demand there. Cycling can be hard enough to be in the know. Still feels there’s a bit of that.

@peterohir There were 4 ex or current riders from my youth cycling club racing and 2 other riders who went to my kids' school, so we had a lot of results to try to keep up with. It was frustrating! Best we could hope for was pictures of the results from the big screens.

@BritishCycling great day of racing but as an event it could be a lot better. F&B is really poor and the camera 📷 policy is bizarre. Rider news, and information- poor. As an event: feels really amateurish. Sad considering the riding we saw was some of the greatest. 🧵

@kradlum Absolutely. I only attended the Sunday. Tried following through snippets on other days posted on socials but impossible. Wanted to know specific rider info on qualifying scratch. Couldn’t. Would be happy with a feed and a results page. National hill climb posts live results.

@peterohir As someone who wasn't there, BC was very slow to put up results on the website. Fortunately we had friends there who could keep us up to date as to who was in which heat and where they came.

@OliAshman @neheritagelib You are proving the point. Corruption- really? You haven’t described corruption. How much do town squares cost? Just black top and a car park is the honest man’s town square?

@neheritagelib Corruption is why people moan. Recently the local town to me (I live near Midsomer Norton) spent nearly £3m on a town square. Including the surrounding pavements it's less than a tennis court in area, not good value. Also Envy is a big problem that filters down from the gov.

Something feels so broken. People were whining for so long that the bridge was falling to bits and no one stumped up the money. Work started - now any sign of progress has to contend with whiners and gripers who’ll find anything to have a little jab at. It’s so exhausting.

@martyncodes @LOU1EI3 @HarryHamishGray Yes. You’re supporting my point. That’s why mcr prices being equivalent for a much worse product is a bitter pill. For bus and tram is much cheaper. If cost didn’t matter they’d charge more. They don’t though.

@LOU1EI3 @HarryHamishGray @martyncodes People talking about cheap frictionless travel not being important ignore the example in London. Where there is cheap frictionless travel. Their daily cap is £5.25 since there is no tube in mcr. But even then to include tube and rail- all zone 1 is £8.90. But not important.

@HarryHamishGray @martyncodes I think the pricing is already okay and given the trams are already at capacity, money is probably better spent on service/investment than cheaper fares Very cheap/free public transport isn’t as good for modal shift as people often assume it is. Coverage/service matters more

Finally rider information; why there isn’t a dedicated website or app with live information- that is promoted - who is in the heats. Who is riding; The schedule; searchable results. Felt like I was in a special position with even simple info. This felt like easy win to engage.

@eamonncanniffe Agree on circle square. But in terms of town planning do you consider UMIST a success? Always was a collection of great modernist buildings that sterilised a whole section of the city. As a campus it was poor. As a district connecting to a wider city, awful.

The proposed replacement is uncannily similar to the dross which is Circle Square - a gloomy windswept development which is hard to see as a success
