i can’t think of tomorrow without thinking of you

@superdomeys ( That lasts for all of about three seconds until Chromedome's next words make it pop right back up again. ) Wait, give? ( He asks as their door slides open with a quiet hiss, regarding him with an inquisitive tilt of his helm. ) Did you get me something?

@superdomeys ( He's sent into the air as Chromedome transforms, arms out wide at his sides, until he's easily caught in those strong, familiar arms. His visor beams, bottom edges curved upwards in a delighted smile, helm falling sideways to rest affectionately against Chromedome's. )

gotta say, it’s tedious work, ( he murmurs, the ship sealed once more, both him and rewind having just finished their all-day chore. but it was finally done— and now, they had the rest of their evening together. ) but it’s better with help. ready to head home, @pocketarchivist?

@superdomeys "Chromedome," he starts, his voice eerily low and unsteady. His fans roar, the only indication his body hasn't frozen completely. And when he continues, it's the clearest sentence he's spoken since coming out of stasis. "𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘤𝘢𝘮?"

@superdomeys Any stability his processor had regained is utterly destroyed as he realizes: the space that his camera usually takes up feels distinctly, horrifyingly 𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘺. He's unsettlingly still, visor set wide, its vivid blue draining pale.

[ closed, with @pocketarchivist. ] it’d been days. too many days, sat at the slab just at rewind’s side, hand over hand and head to hard table top. he’d opted to offline his optics, and while this was initially as a means to conserve… it came as a means to persevere.

@rewindthatforme // It's a good way to heal, to pass that love on to another pup who really needs it. There'll always be dogs out there that need someone to love them, and I think it's wonderful that you want to offer that space in your heart to one, after you've had some time. YOU are wonderful!

@pocketarchivist //i do admittedly hope that after some time has passed mom and i will be able to take in another pooch who needs a home, which is one of the few somewhat positive parts of these types of situations.

@superdomeys "Okay," he replies softly, sinking down even further into those beloved servos. "I love you, too. I can't imagine doing any of this without you."

@superdomeys The sincere determination he sees there is strong enough that Rewind, for the first time in maybe ever, feels like he can believe him. That realization alone is enough to draw a choked whimper from him, and then comes a flood of relief so strong it saps all his strength.

busy fussing over @pocketarchivist. clean rags in his hands, fresh oil and paint at his side. he's working diligently to help with his conjunx's finish, having dedicated their whole afternoon to it. it was both important to him, and to rewind. thus... it was a priority.

@rewindthatforme // You're so very welcome, and yeah, I get that. When things are uncertain it's more stressful in a way. That's so sweet though awww... I hope he absolutely loves his icecream, and I'm glad you finally get to do that for him after all this time! What a lucky pup to be so loved

@pocketarchivist //i will, and thank u so much bro. its tough but i think solidifying this has in a weird way helped a lot. im gonna get him a puppy icecream cup from my workplace for his last day, funnily enough ive wanted to get one of those for him from this place since i was little

@rewindthatforme // Of course, I think you're making the right call, to let him go when he's still himself, when he still has his dignity. I had to make that same call, and I know how hard it is, but you're doing the best thing you can for him, I promise. Take your time when it comes to talking♥

@pocketarchivist // wont take them without being forced, and with a partially collapsed trachea and lung mass thats just not a good option. But he’s given us 15 great years, and he still loves to be with us, its the best time for him tbh.

@hoverbmb I think it's the most considered I've ever felt. ( Others have done wonderful things for him - Dominus did so many. But his headcam... the way he felt when he received it, and the way Chromedome looked at him when he held it in his hands... yeah. Nothing beats that.)

@hoverbmb But, yeah. It wasn't just my gift of profference, although that alone makes it a very precious memory; to me, it was also like... being given freedom. It let me do exactly what I wanted to do, exactly how I wanted to do it. ( His visor softens, a soft smile in its warm glow. )

Ooooh, we should turn it into a game of guess the lie! Two truths, one lie. Go! Anyone who successfully hides their true lie gets to ask me any question they want! (But the answer might also be a lie. That's the fun of it! )
