This post hit really hard. With AI, many people thought we would be able to complete work faster and have much more time for ourselves, but it has actually been the opposite for me. I now work more than I used to even though it just managing or promoting. A few weeks back, after a full day of work, I sat down to work on a personal project. Even though all of the coding was done by Cursor, I ended up staying up all night because it is addictive, just one more prompt. Sometimes it is extremely exhausting.
Lenny Rachitsky@lennysan

"Using coding agents well is taking every inch of my 25 years of experience as a software engineer, and it is mentally exhausting. I can fire up four agents in parallel and have them work on four different problems, and by 11am I am wiped out for the day. There is a limit on human cognition. Even if you're not reviewing everything they're doing, how much you can hold in your head at one time. There's a sort of personal skill that we have to learn, which is finding our new limits. What is a responsible way for us to not burn out, and for us to use the time that we have?" @simonw

This is the way
Brivael - FR@BrivaelFr

If longevity escape velocity arrives by 2033 (Ray K’s prediction), a 50-year-old today has a shot at seeing 2100. The prize: 50 extra healthy years of compounding knowledge, relationships, and impact. Worth optimizing for? Focus on a longevity mindset.

An uncomfortable truth for some: As a woman, I can walk through the centre of a Chinese city at 3am, drunk, alone, and dressed however I want and genuinely not worry about being sexually assaulted. Honestly, yes. I wouldn’t worry at all. London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Oxford, Cambridge = fuck that. Does China have issues? Yup, I will address them. But at least women in general can walk alone.

YouTube made $60 billion in revenue last year. A billion hours of video get watched on the platform every single day. The resolution menu redesign tells you exactly how they protect those margins. 1080p uses roughly 3 GB per hour. 480p uses about 500 MB. That's a 6x difference in bandwidth per stream. When "Auto (recommended)" quietly serves you 480p while calling it "the best experience for your conditions," YouTube is making an infrastructure cost decision and packaging it as a user preference. Run the math on a billion daily watch hours. If even 20% of viewers who would have manually selected 1080p now passively accept whatever "Auto" gives them, that's tens of millions of dollars per quarter in bandwidth savings. Google runs its own fiber and CDN, so the per-GB cost is lower than market rate, but at this scale, every resolution tier shift moves the needle. The old menu had numbers. 1080p. 720p. 480p. 360p. Clear, comparable, user-controlled. The new menu has feelings. "Higher picture quality." "Data saver." You can still get to specific resolutions, but they buried it under "Advanced" because every tap of friction between you and 1080p is money saved. The tell is the default. "Auto (recommended)" with a checkmark already selected. YouTube is a $60 billion business telling 2.7 billion monthly users what quality they should want, while hiding the tool that would let them decide for themselves. The dropdown worked fine. That's why they killed it.
Dipayan Ray@geekedout__

YouTube, please dump this garbage and give us back the old resolution selector menu

Why i'm really excited for GPT-5.5 "Spud" As you know: OpenAI just finished pretraining its next major model, codenamed Spud. Altman told staff they expect a "very strong model" in weeks that can "really accelerate the economy." To free up compute, they're killing Sora entirely, even losing Disney's $1B investment over it. That's how much they're betting on this. However: *completing pretraining* from scratch means OpenAI built an *entirely new foundation*: new architecture, new data mix, new scale. This isnt a finetune or iteration on GPT-4. Greg Brockman's scaling org is running this, and Altman literally stepped back from safety oversight to focus on datacenter buildout and supply chains. Everything at OpenAI is now pointed at one thing: shipping Spud and the products on top of it. Really really excited for it.

NEW: Musician Murphy Campbell says she isn’t making money on YouTube because an AI company is cloning her music and filing copyright claims against her own videos “An entity called Timeless Sounds IR uploaded AI-generated versions of my songs to all major streaming platforms... They used a distributor, which I just discovered, and that distributor’s name is Vydia. They used Vydia to upload all these AI-generated songs. Vydia has since decided to make copyright claims on all of the videos that were used to feed that AI engine to sound like me. So Vydia has come forward and made copyright claims on my YouTube page. Because YouTube does not personally review these things, I am no longer making money on YouTube. Vydia is making money on YouTube off of my own videos of me playing my own banjo in my own backyard with traditional folk songs, some for my own family, over AI-generated music.”

This fake outrage is pathetic. You are using the most advanced AI on earth for free and whining that it needs a business model. Frontier AI costs billions to build and run. It’s not powered by fairy dust, you absolute child.
Kenshi@kenshii_ai

OpenAI betrayed us all. Ads are now live in ChatGPT. Remember when they positioned themselves as the anti corporate AI savior? Gone. Now your free chats get polluted with ads to fund their empire. This was never about humanity. It was always about cash.

🚨BREAKING FRONTIER MODEL NEWS gpt-6 set for release april 14th altman's team has been leaking like a sieve lately, here's what openai staff are saying privately. >pretraining completed march 17th. post-training and red-teaming already done. this thing is ready. >benchmarks are absurd. outperforms gpt-5.4 by 40%+ on coding, reasoning, and agentic tasks. >natively multimodal from the ground up. text, audio, images, video one architecture >openai killed sora and redirected every GPU to this model. the billion-dollar disney deal is dead. that's how serious this is. >product org officially renamed to "AGI Deployment." it’s agi time baby. >brockman says AGI is 70-80% achieved. internally they think gpt-6 closes most of the remaining gap. >2 million token context window. double what gpt-5.4 offered. >priced at $2.50/$12 per million tokens. barely above gpt-5.4. so like mythos intelligence, but you can afford it. >safety team moved under the CRO. altman stepped back from safety oversight entirely to focus on data centers. >openai has been in internal "code red" since december 2025. this is their answer. >powers the new desktop "superapp", chatgpt, codex, and atlas browser merged into one agent. the potato is cooked. spud is agi.
