@kikanicolela @UnknownCo123 @Revolue @_xpqzl @objktcom I will, thanks for sharing. they definitely might be passionate about the art on tezos, it really is something special, but my point is that some of them are lazy, often blaming artists for "not promoting enough" when I believe it's THEIR work to research, not mine, not yours.

Why are only “big artists” being featured
on @objktcom ?
If they’re already established, with collectors and strong visibility… do they really need more exposure?
Should the platform be used as an ego boost for those who already made it, or as a space to highlight incredible works from artists who are still trying to be seen?
There are artists out there creating powerful pieces, listing them for 0.01, not because that’s their value, but because they lack visibility to reach 30+.
Feels like there’s something being missed here.

I'm at that "very small percentage" that hopes that web3 will be different. the middleman used to be the main player there and this issue has clearly not been fixed here yet.

Do you know how the trad art world is functioning? That’s the whole business model since forever. And we tried to change it here but just very small percentage does it the different way. That’s just reality. Time is scarce.
Of course the artist should make time for collectors relations. The artist wants to live from their art, so it’s their job to. And if they don’t have time they rely on middlemen. What are we even talking about? Basic understanding of the art market.

it is a huge community and so much art. that is why it's a multi level thing, discoverability. the main thing, you are right, is to make available tools for the collectors to do their own research. but that is not enough and not the only thing.
so we have:
- explore page
- categories (new)
- objkt feed
- objkt curation tool (open to everyone)
- tags
- front page
- blog
- objkt's X
- objkt's IG
- spaces
- curated shows
- dm groups with collectors
- personal reach out to collectors - for the bigger releases that objkt has a bigger share.
all of these above build , imo , the best discoverability available to collectors.
and honestly, no one is "baby fed". collectors are passionate people, specially in the tezos ecosystem, where there is very little emphasis on speculation from the start.

They don’t have time to their own research every day about new artists. This is really the minority that want or can spend that time. It’s a very niche interest to browse new artists every day.

@UnknownCo123 @Revolue @_xpqzl @objktcom @kikanicolela the main issue is that many collectors expect to be baby-fed in DMs (as you stated yourself) instead of doing their job (DYOR). so we fall into another issue, which is centralization, where Kika alone has to fill the gap, and that's where taste and connections weigh a lot.

That’s so funny. You are one of the artists @kikanicolela has promoted so many times to many in private. She introduced your work to so many collectors. Everything after that is the job of the artist. Can’t expect a platform that not even gets enough to survive from sales to do all the work.
And anyways Kika is always introducing every kind of artist to collectors.
