No, it's not forfeiting your voice @Wendigoon8 it's amplifying it. Humans have always built on what came before: painters studied masters, writers read thousands of books, musicians learned from recordings. AI is just the fastest, most accessible way to do the same thing. You’re not handing your voice to the crowd, you’re directing the chorus. Prompts, choices, edits and taste are what make it yours. Every big artistic leap (photography, synthesisers, digital tools) sparked the same panic: “This will kill real art.” Instead, art evolved and got richer. AI isn’t cancer. It’s opening the door for millions more people to create, especially those who never could before. The machine doesn’t erase human voices, it helps more of them be heard. You can still bring the vision, the judgement, and the final say. That’s not the end of creativity. It’s the biggest, most democratic boost it’s ever had.

It’s not your expression, it’s a machine given words that it uses to create a consensus of how other people have expressed it. Expression is your voice, not the voices of others serrated and dragged through a machine made to mimic your mouth. You express nothing, you forfeit your voice to allow the rest of humanity to speak for you. Here, you even say the ultimate goal is the erasure of human voices. Your “expression” leads to a lack of humanity, not a furtherance of it. Every iteration and invention of art has found new ways to allow us to culminate the human experience through sensation, but generative AI is cancer, it’s the cells of what we’ve already built spinning ad nauseam until all we “make” is what others have already made. It’s a dead end and lifeless, and goes against whatever spirit, soul, or God gave us the gift of creation in the first place.

@GenghisD0n My bad man, I meant which characters can't win at the highest level in T6. I hadn't heard that take before. I know balancing was a lot more volatile in the older ones but I thought T6 bought that in line more or less (Bob not included). You make some good points about T8 tho.

@rainbowdrop_FGC I'm assuming you mean in t8? I'd say probably say defensive characters that haven't been reworked well into the system. So Feng after the nerfs Steve is a another one before this season at least. They don't have the busted offense and hitboxes but also have their defense nerfed.

@rainbowdrop_FGC So first I'm going to say that competitive does not mean fun or enjoyable. My definition is the ability for each character to win at the highest level. So in T7 even the worst characters at various parts of the games life could win at the highest level. I don't think 6 had that.

There's a version of Tekken that exists in another timeline that didn't have Rage, Rage Arts or Rage Drives, Wall Bounce and Wall Crush, Akuma, Geese and Eliza and it didn't become Tekken 8. I'm happy for the alternate timeline that I'm coping into existence right now

Alex’s Air Knee Smash is not only his main anti air, it’s one of his most used combo enders. It’s +29 and he has a few really strong Oki options he can cycle through. Here are what I believe are some of his best mid-screen options: 1. Drive Rush Delayed Standing Medium punch: It’s easily hit confirmable and its +4 on block. 2. Drive rush delayed Light Power Bomb. 3. Drive rush Forward MP (overhead) - This is +7 on hit This is my first time doing theory craft on oki options and conditioning so let me know if there’s anything I missed or could have done better. @rainbowdrop_FGC @SpaghettiRip True. It did not make any sense. Marduk also had a 13i KND/CH fish ws4 (knee) which was GOD LIKE in many MUs. I played Marduk TTT2, day1 T7 till the end, and that 12i buff was bizzare af. Xiaoyu also got a ws12i in T7 that splats. 💀 They kept buffing punishment, even now days.

One thing that I really liked about characters in the past is that their punishment options often meant certain matchups were difficult. E.g. Before Bryan had FC df21, doing certain lows against him was safer and it was a weakness of his. Also some chars only having i16 launchers so -15 was safer (Negan powercrush example in T7). Would be nice to unstandardise punishment carefully so characters excel or slightly struggle in matchups, rather than most characters having mostly solid options.

@PontiffZangana @SpaghettiRip Miguel got f2,1 as a i12 punish, he already had insanely good punishment and all it did was replace and remove a CH move he had had since Tekken 6. Doesn't make any sense tbh, characters should have weaknesses. I think it's especially bad on Marduk cause he was already good af.

@SpaghettiRip T7 developed a lot of unnecessary ws punishments for a lot of chars including Hei. One of the most notable ones was Marduk's uf2,1 +6 oH as far as I remember with 34ish damage into crouch stun. Which was also his standing punishment as well due to the input. 💀
