@TorruckG @blueberriesGG i mean yeah, but consider that almost everything they deleted was stuff that Activision and their partner studios were involved in. bungie might've said it was for storage reasons, which was probably a factor too, but it's also a lot easier to keep their part of d2 then all of it

@TorruckG @blueberriesGG bc players don't see the dev process, they see the result, and if you overwork yourself unsustainably, the next time you release something and you aren't at the same standard, then players will be (and have been) disappointed. d2 is the perfect example of this actually!

@TorruckG @blueberriesGG that was Justin Truman at GDC (game dev conference). his message was misinterpreted by a lot of the community bc most of us aren't devs. from a game dev perspective, what he meant was that it's dangerous to overwork yourself to a level you can't replicate consistently

@TorruckG @blueberriesGG when Marathon got its backlash in 2025, they had to then pull people from Destiny over to Marathon to make sure *that* didn't fail. they're spreading themselves VERY thin but aren't gaining the manpower needed to keep both ships afloat. that's why Marathon is thriving but D2 isnt

@TorruckG @blueberriesGG that meant a constant resource war as both teams needed to tug in either direction to make sure they stuck the landing. Final Shape and the home-stretch before it required them pulling most of their Marathon staff over to Destiny 2 so they could stick the landing. 2/3
