@dook_sin32516@GuraGem Even if most are Japanese, the standout cuts also come from international freelancers - so attributing the quality to ‘Japan being better’ is just oversimplifying it.
@repaent@GuraGem 99% of the list is japanese thats the thing, even if one of those freelancers worked on invincible, it would only do so much.
the art direction, comp, style, overall direction and aesthethic wont change.
@dook_sin32516@GuraGem Brother, such disrespect to freelancers. A good chunk of these are not Japanese. JJK clearly relies on international freelancers, so saying ‘Japan is better at animation’ is just feigning ignorance of how the industry actually works.
@CWC36218948@dook_sin32516@GuraGem Sure, not my point, though. People cherry-pick flashy sakuga moments and act like that proves Japan is ‘better’ at animation. JJK had top animators from France and Korea, and the talent pool is global. Both series just have different production styles.
@ilyTranquila@GuraGem Animation budgets are about paying a whole team and meeting deadlines. Indie animators can spend a lot of time polishing a short clip, but TV productions have tight schedules. The budget mostly affects time, manpower, and production quality - not the software itself.
@GuraGem Can someone explain “Animation budgets” to me, cause there’s indie animators that use regular software like procreate and make decent quality animations, and the app is $12 not including brush sets.
