'Dad, please try to arrange money. I've already been buried alive' - victim child. Words no parent should ever hear. Yet today, traffickers buried a Rohingya child, filming his desperate pleas for ransom. Our camps have become hunting grounds. ACT NOW! #SaveRohingyaChildren

Bangladesh shared data on 829,036 of Rohingya w/ Myanmar. As of Jan 2026, only 253,964 were recognized as "previously residing in Myanmar." But Myanmar is still at war. Our data is being processed while our people are still being killed. Verification means nothing without safety.

The Arakha Army isn’t just killing and oppressing people of different ethnicities and religions, it is also oppressing ethnic Arakanese people as well. burmacampaign.org.uk/uk-government-…

A nearly blind #Rohingya man, beaten & Tasered for carrying a WALKING STICK, was abandoned 5 miles from home by US Border Patrol with no assistance. Shah Alam never made it home. This is state negligence. #JusticeForShahAlam

Heartfelt congrats to Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Bangladesh's new Foreign Minister! As #Rohingya, we benefited from your advocacy during your tenure as High Representative. We hope you continue prioritizing our human rights, protection, and pathway to citizenship or safe return home.

Breaking: Fire in Camp 5 again. Night of February 17, 2026. Rohingya refugee camps, Bangladesh. Again the same camp. Again at night. Again families running for their lives. This is the third time Camp 5 has burned in two weeks. Kerosene bottles were found before.

Big congrats to the people of Bangladesh, BNP & @trahmanbnp on winning a strong mandate. 🇧🇩 To the new govt, please build a national #Rohingya policy and help us return home without fear. We also hope for opportunities to study and work until that day comes.

3 AM, Feb 13. Fire in Camp 11, Rohingya camps, Bangladesh. Again. Camp 9, then Camp 5, now Camp 11. Multiple fires in one week. Can this really be coincidence? Fires at 3 AM don't just happen randomly. Someone is doing this. Who? Why? Who benefits from terrorizing refugees?

Another fire broke out in #Rohingya Camp 5, Block D9 on Wednesday evening, 11/02/2026. One shelter was completely destroyed, while another was partially burned. The fire was brought under control due to quick and collective action by community members.

Another fire in Rohingya refugee camps, Bangladesh - Camp 9. We've been saying "another fire" for 8 years. BGD authorities called many incidents arson & sabotage. So why does it keep happening? Who benefits from this? Why zero accountability? This is a pattern, not coincidence.

Law enforcement carried out a joint operation in Palangkhali, Ukhiya, targeting Rohingyas living outside camps and forcing them back. Mobile courts fined and jailed local house owners for renting homes or land to Rohingyas.

On 23 March 1946, Waji Ullah of Arakan wrote to British authorities warning that Muslims were being targeted and pushed out of Burma. Nearly 80 years later, #Rohingya Muslims are still denied safety. Genocide is never sudden. It grows when ignored. Read the letter..

Bangladesh’s own officials have called Bhasan Char a "failed project." So why are thousands still confined there? It is time for the interim government to close the island camp and treat genocide survivors with the dignity they deserve. #EndRefugeeDetention #Bangladesh
Fortify Rights@FortifyRights

🇧🇩 A new @FortifyRights report documents the mass arbitrary detention and “warehousing” of Rohingya refugees, genocide survivors from Myanmar, on Bhasan Char in Bangladesh. Based on more than 100 interviews over five years, the report finds that Rohingya refugees are denied freedom of movement and access to livelihoods, amounting to de facto detention in violation of domestic and international law. The report calls on Bangladesh to close Bhasan Char, end refugee “warehousing,” and protect the rights and dignity of Rohingya refugees. Read the report: bit.ly/BhasanCharRepo…

The Camp 16 fire has once more exposed the fragility of "temporary" shelters imposed on us. Over 500 homes destroyed, thousands displaced. UN agencies and the govt of Bangladesh must urgently revise restrictions on fire-resistant materials. Protection cannot remain conditional.

The Camp 16 blaze has left thousands homeless and without essential belongings. This is not misfortune; it is the consequence of prolonged neglect following Myanmar's atrocities. Donors, advocates, and governments must act decisively to uphold our dignity and security. #Rohingya

Recurrent fires in Cox's Bazar camps expose a policy failure: flammable structures persist because durable materials are restricted. UN agencies and the Government of Bangladesh must permit safe construction standards without delay. Vulnerability is not inevitable. #Rohingya

To the donors & the government: Look at the ashes of Camp 16. The "temporary" solution has been failing for years. We #Rohingya need a policy change to allow fire-resistant materials. Stop building with tinder. Our lives are worth more than another roll of plastic.

A large fire🔥broke out overnight in one of the Rohingya refugee camps, destroying/damaging 500+ shelters & camp infrastructure. Heroic efforts of #refugee volunteers & 🇧🇩 fire service contained the flames and prevented injuries, but the damage is extensive👇 📸:@IOMBangladesh
