Citing rising fuel costs @lufthansa plans to retire its last four Airbus A340-600s in October.
Also in October, two Boeing 747-400s will be grounded. LH says the final farewell to this aircraft type is planned for next year

@RealAirPower1 Can't find a photo, but I remember a Yeovilton International Air Day which had a (iirc) British Army Wildcat covered from top to bottom, each rotor blade, entire cabin and canopy, the whole body was totally wrapped up. Bizarre decision for an airshow, perhaps.

Soviet whirlybirds in Afghanistan. The Mi-24 closest to the camera, an early Hind-C variant, is decked out in a full-body suit with custom-tailored covers for the cockpit, cabin, and engine intakes. You rarely see this level of pampering in the West, but this Hind was clearly living the high life.

NSPA intends to award this contract to Leonardo UK.
Leonard UK is currently conducting the Portuguese Navy's Lynx MLU, having delivered 4 of the 5 aircraft.
Companies now have 10 calender days to send evidence to NSPA to show that they can also meet the requirements.

The Portuguese Navy will spend up to 5 million euros to modernize the IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) of its Lynx MK95A helicopters. The current Mode 4 will be replaced by the Mode 5 across 2025 and 2026.

UK Government's claim that everything is going to be fine with food supplies in this country is false and irresponsible. A national emergency is coming, and it requires getting ahead of the issues and working together as a country. Waiting until the shit hits the fan won't work.
