@mushabooooms as someone who’s taken screenwriting classes, we were usually discouraged from including details like that. how a certain scene is played is meant to be up to the director & actors. it’s a lot different than fiction writing where you get to control everything

@pcyleclercs yeppp and “reclaiming” slurs is about taking away their hateful meaning and replacing it with something positive. if you are saying a slur hatefully it is still a slur even if you can reclaim it. it’s about the intention not just who is saying it.

it is so concerning to me that ppl still do not get that asians can be racist towards other asians, and even people within their own culture, the latter being a very known thing termed ‘internalized racism’ stemming from colonization and white supremacy

@bewildered_bi ofc ilya does not say shit like that in canon because the books are fundamentally fluffy romance novels with some light angst. people are allowed to explore a more in depth portrayal of severe mental health struggles in their fic that’s why it’s a FAN FICTION
