there’s something about being the wise friend that makes people almost dehumanise you. you’re held to standards by people who can’t meet them because of what you’ve learnt, but the only reason you know what you do is because you had to survive. less space to be flawed and grow.

@tataseboydej that’s fair, was speaking from commonalities i’ve observed in my own experience and in the experience i’ve observed other “wise/advice” friends to have.

@shirucoded This could be seen as a form of self reflection or hubris in the same instance because thinking you’re the wise friend could be framed as soothing the ego, while reflecting on the roles everyone expects you to play in your social circle is basically deconstructing social labels.

you really shouldn’t affirm for a self concept like this. it’s not realistic or logical. instead you’re just going to perpetuate a cycle that keeps showing you this belief. and i’m saying this from the perspective of being a detached person.
