@BPete1970 @Londonblue_2 Absolutely and agreed. We didn’t have Tourists 15 years ago though Pete? Fact is, at the time, they didn’t necessarily just do it for the Fans (although there were a number of London-based CL holders), was also to attract corporates to CL games and partner with Virgin Trains.

@sifter1983 @Londonblue_2 I get that mate. We have branches that travel from all over UK & they organise their own coaches/ mini buses / trains etc
My point being if they were long established fans they’d have their own ‘regular’ travel arrangements

@BPete1970 @Londonblue_2 …DHL sponsored your warm-up vests, just for advertising exposure, Audi sponsored the dugout seats at OT, and it gained a great additional sponsorship-revenue. We weren’t established and partnerships were popping-up all over the place at that time. Wasn’t just catering for Fans.

@BPete1970 @Londonblue_2 15 years ago though Mr Boyle when Citeh were a bit like “Look?! We’re in the CL?! Who’d have ever ‘thunk’ it?!”, and being in business travel for 27 years now I can confirm that everyone wanted partnerships with any Club in the CL at the time just for marketing (1/2)…

@BPete1970 @Londonblue_2 Tut tut Pete-think (I can’t quite remember), this was something for Southern-based ST Holders and regulars back in 2011 or ‘12 when we first got in the CL. They were specific-charters that meant you wouldn’t get stuck with commercial commuters taking up all the seats midweek. 👍

Call me naive or cynical but surely the best thing to do would have been a one off oasis gig at say wythenshawe or Heaton park at reasonable ticket prices. Have the super star other musicians/ bands as support acts.
Then the family of mani are truly looked after for life etc
