I hugely respect Wikipedia for spending the past two decades trying to prove my high school teachers who decried it as unreliable wrong. These days, I actually point students doing research towards Wikipedia as a valuable starting point, specifically for the endnotes.

Mexico approved a law which protects voice actors from AI and ban the use of AI for dubbing. It also protects voice actors from the unauthorized use of AI tools.
Mexico produces the vast majority of dubbing products for all of Latin America, so this is great news against AI 🙂

People coming around on masks and covid is inevitable. I want to expedite it though because every additional day this goes on, more people get unnecessarily hurt.
I'm not expecting apologies but people who don't apologize should expect an indefinite side eye.

this is the exact system that analyzes drone feeds, satellite imagery, and sensor data to identify and prioritize targets. it’s been used in thousands of strikes already. now it’s the official US military infrastructure.
it’s simply a system that can track anyone on earth from space. then they gave it a government contract and called it defense.
also, remember when Anthropic refused to remove ethical red lines for the Pentagon and got blacklisted? Palantir didn’t hesitate lmao. $10 billion army contract.
