@Game_Dev_Steve @JonnyMicro Even if you try to limit Star Wars to just A New Hope the physics are all wonky in a way where this is false. For example, X-wings have a "top speed" and their engines need to produce thrust to maintain it.
With our physics trade routes make sense to maximize operating profit.

@Hesamation Also part of why every QA site must die at some point, to be replaced with just a slightly different version of the same thing that is a tabula rasa.
English

@Hesamation The problem with all QA sites since yahoo answers, quora, and SO is that at some point you end up in this infinite loop of people mostly asking the same questions differently with people parroting remixed previous answers.
That is no better than ChatGPT/Gemni/Claude, as in worse.
English

this is a catastrophe. StackOverflow provided data to LLMs, LLMs replaced StackOverflow, and now no new Q&A hub exists to provide fresh data. it’s a self-undermining causal loop, like mold growing on food, consuming it, and dying once the food is gone.

@rui314 In my own use of cluade, I think this is where it excels, being like "I handled 3 of the cases from the specification document in the code, handle the rest" and it can fill in the gaps. I think for compiler heuristics the smart thing is to have claude do the same for compiler
English

@rui314 Are we really sure Opus 4 is driven to make this optimization via inference? Human programmers as well as LLMs may use a form prediction/pattern matching, since this example of counting bits being faster with intrinsics/specialized instructions would be a typical textbook topic

LLMによるアセンブリプログラミングという話だと、LLMがコンパイラよりも賢い最適化ができる場合があるという論文を読んだ。例えば「お、これはpopcntが使えるな」とか気づくことができるらしい(できそうな気はするが)。 arxiv.org/abs/2505.11480
