I hate to involve myself with potential console war stuff because I game and love all 3 consoles.
But if we're honest, Nintendo is hated for hypothetical scenarios. Playstation and Xbox actually do what y'all fear Nintendo might do.

Nintendo has the ability to shut down your switch 2 console and brick it remotely if they see you modding it or tinkering with it in anyway. But them having this ability is completely anti-consumer in every way and have yet to disable this. Why the comparison?

@splashtastical @KirPinkFury You say "physically incapable", but the option to buy a disc drive separate (at least for PS) has been there. I've bought mine for the Pro for $30, but I've seen them as low as $25 on holiday sales periods

@PhantomCross97 @KirPinkFury Pokopia is not first party, it's developed by Koei Techmo. GKC are a physical necessity as some games are just too large to fit on a cartridge. And we're going to talk about relying on servers when Sony just changed their rules to require internet checks on digital purchases?

Outside of most 1st party games, the majority of releases so far on Switch 2 have been on key carts too; that's the opposite on PS5 (and Switch). If you want a library focused on ownership/preservation, independent of servers, it matters

@splashtastical @KirPinkFury Many games now are built to take advantage of SSD speeds which have long been faster than running off disc/cart; we see Switch 2 games requiring its SSD to run now like with FF7R. Can't speak for XB, but PS is still providing physical options 85%+ of most games still on the disc

@PhantomCross97 @KirPinkFury Sony and Microsoft have both released consoles that are physically incapable of playing physical games. PS5 Pro doesn't even come with a disc drive. Even the budget Switch Lite could play physical games. This is the "hypothetical monster" versus reality.

@KirPinkFury And requiring a sub to talk to friends, announcing higher physical-than-digital game pricing to ween off physical, and positioning the future of physical to mostly come as key cart releases on a device with limited storage.

Valve also takes advantage of the absurd market in CS2 by adding an option to pay thousands of dollars directly to them for in game cosmetics while supporting gambling.

But by in large most people who join the US army don’t commit war crimes (unlike the IDF), they mostly just stand guard

Explanation post- I joined in 2021 when I was 18 and I don’t agree with what’s going on in the world I hate violence I was young and couldn’t afford school. The wishing death on me is crazy never dealt with that before. I just want to make content that makes people happy.
