The GameStop thought of the day today is a little different than usual. What is on my mind is Implied Volatility, which, as seen below, is trending lower and lower, much like the situation leading into April 2024, two years ago. The only reason I mention this is because pattern breaks happen and can be devastating if you are running particular strategies, for example, a covered strangle position. So if you are running particular strategies, always watch the conditions on which your strategies depend. Or in simpler terms: If you continue to chase premiums into an IV dumpster fire and something comes along to catapult this thing, you're likely to get mass assigned and lose all your shares like a lot of people in early May 2024. Just something to think about. Let's go GameStop! As usual, I don't know anything and am always wrong. Make good decisions for you, I don't know what those are.

Yep just giving people a heads up. Historically, IV typically immediately drops post earnings, but then touches a new bottom 5 weeks after earnings. April 16-24 2024 would have been that Earnings +5 weeks historic low (historic at the time). If things pattern follow, this could be a new historic low around that same period April 16-24 2026. $SPY DID EXACTLY WHAT WE PLANNED. NOW THE REAL TEST BEGINS Few weeks ago we flagged 650/652 as the level that needed to hold. It didn't. And when it broke, price didn't waste any time straight down, exactly how these things play out when key levels fail. Now sitting at 634. There's a minor support zone around 620/625 that could slow things down short term, but I wouldn't put too much weight on it. The real test is 600/610. And here's why that level matters. That was the December 2024 high. Price got rejected hard from there, spent months under it, then finally broke through in June 2025. Classic resistance turned support. Big players who missed the breakout likely have interest defending that zone. So yeah , the market is going to tell us a lot about where we're headed based on how it reacts at 600/610. Clean hold and reclaim? Bulls still have a case. Lose it on a weekly close? Things get ugly fast. We'll see. Levels don't lie, price action will give us the answer. Not financial advice.
