Four of your selections wonโ€™t start the first game. Itโ€™s about the balance of the team not hoping for one moment of excellence.

England are not in the class of France, Argentina or Spain. But they do have some exceptional talent. Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane are world class. So is John Stones - at his best. Trent Alexander-Arnold is world class - in possession. Declan Rice is having the season of his life. There are more reasons to be positive going into this tournament than negative. But England have to be bold and play to their strengths.ย  Imagine if England were bold and, if all fit, went into the World Cupโ€ฆ Pickford; Alexander-Arnold, Stones, Guehi, Oโ€™Reilly; Anderson, Rice; Saka, Bellingham, Gordon; Kane.ย  Stones would have some covering to do of Alexander-Arnold when he raced upfield. Bellingham gets heavily scrutinised but heโ€™s a big-game player, a winner and used to pressure at Real Madrid. He has to start. England also have an exceptional head coach in Thomas Tuchel who can make the right changes at the right time. England have a chance of progressing to the quarter-finals of the World Cup and then anythingโ€™s possible. But only if they are bold. Not gung-ho. But bold. Risk/reward. #ENG

Barcelona v Hallen was a quality game of football. Two very good sides.

It was another fantastic weekend of football with plenty of goals across the league! Olveston claimed derby day delight as they completed the double in โ€œThe Battle of the Hillโ€, edging a tight and scrappy contest that saw them go 1-0 down, lead 2-1, get pulled back to 2-2, before a last-kick free-kick winner which sealed the points in dramatic fashion. Greyfriars and Longwell Green Res played out an entertaining 3-3 draw, both picking up valuable points. DRG Frenchay produced a dominant display with a 6-0 win over Shaftesbury, while Shirehampton Res secured a narrow 3-2 victory over Patchway Town to give themselves some breathing space. Winterbourne continued their good form with a 5-0 win over Nicholas Wanderers at the Rec. Hallen Res remain top after a hard fought win against Bristol Barcelona despite strong second-half pressure from Barcelona In Division One, Old Sodbury strengthened their position at the top with a convincing 4-0 win over Hambrook, while Bedminster Down came out on top in a nine-goal thriller, beating AFC Mangotsfield 5-4 at Oasis Academy. AEK kept the pressure on in the promotion race with an emphatic 6-1 win over Lion, who remain in the relegation mix, and Cribbs A vs Chipping Sodbury Res was postponed. @greyfriarsafc @longwell_res @OfficialShireFC @UPTHEDURGE @OfficialShireFC @patchwaytownfc @thornburytownfc @OlvestonFC @UtdWinterbourne @the_wands @BristolBarcaFC @HallenFC @aekbocofc @LionFCBristol @BedmiDownFC @AFCMango1st @OldSodsFC @CribbsFC @TSods @swsportsnews @AS_FootyReview @ReplAiCamsX @AffordableFooty @bsoccerworld @NonLeagueCrowd @NonLeagueFix

๐Ÿ“Œ๐ˆ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐ญ ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐› ๐”๐ฉ๐๐š๐ญ๐ž๐Ÿ“Œ Sadly, after spending forty-nine seasons at the Cribbs Sports & Social Club in Henbury, we will not be playing football there next season. Our landlord, Redmaidsโ€™ High School GDST, served a 12 month notice of lease cessation that ends on 30 April 2026. They kindly offered we could continue to use the football pitches and clubhouse by hiring the facilities, which we were grateful for the opportunity. Understandably, Redmaids want to upgrade and modernise the site for the benefit of their students. Up to six facility improvement projects are being considered by the School and their parent Trust. As that preparatory work progressed, it became obvious that access to the football pitches would be impacted for season 2026/27 and possibly into 2027/28 too. At a recent meeting on Friday 27 February, Redmaids told us the bad news that pitches wouldn't be available for season 2026/27 at least. They did say we will be welcomed back as hirers, when their development projects are finalised. We, as a committee, are seeking to find solutions so that ALL of our teams can continue to play football in the local area, including our affiliated junior section, Shire Colts. We appreciate parents will be disappointed that the pathway for their children has been impacted but the committee are committed in trying to re-establish that pathway. We are being advised and supported by Gloucestershire Football Association, for which we really appreciate their help. The club has made great memories in BS10 with great people, progressing from the Bristol & Avon League when we arrived, through the Avon Premier Combination, into the national non-league system via the Gloucestershire County League, the Western League, onto the Hellenic League title and the Southern League. Football clubs are not about bricks and mortar; they are founded on the people within them. Cumulatively, our club officials have over one hundred and fifty years with the club and we hope for many more, as we continue to develop the next generation of Cribbs footballers. Thank you all for your support and please watch here for updates on our progress. ๐™‰๐™ž๐™˜๐™  ๐™‘๐™š๐™–๐™ก๐™š ๐˜พ๐™๐™–๐™ž๐™ง๐™ข๐™–๐™ฃ ๐˜พ๐™ง๐™ž๐™—๐™—๐™จ ๐™๐˜พ

He was indecisive and often seen communicating with his assistants and the fourth official for help. He was either frequently taking up bad positions or clueless regarding the laws of the game.
