Another from the Matlock-Buxton route. This time Bakewell on 23rd June 1961. The notes suggest the loco was probably returning from banking duties. The buildings still stand and this part of the line is now a section of the Monsal Trail. Image: Ben Brooksbank/Wikimedia Commons.

No 9 is the South Tynedale Railway's works train but can haul passenger services if necessary. Originally a flameproof underground mine loco and rebuilt by our volunteers in 1992. Here she is in 2006. #ShareAFactNoOneAskedFor

on #flashbackfriday here's a look back at Naworth being rebuilt by STRPS volunteers in 1983. Originally an underground loco based at Hordern Colliery Co Durham and still running almost 70 years after she was built!
