It's comments like this that make it worth sacrificing spare time on side projects. And still, I would prefer if block compression was just natively supported in VTube Studio, cause it could help so many people with heavy models.

@AndrewHulshult I think as long as it's case by case basis this is fine. We already loose some detail with low BCn compression and a tiny bit of detail with BC7.

@IsThisA3DModel Absolutely useless. Even if you were to make it stereoscopic, which would be one of the few uses for 360 pov, the amount of camera movement would make everyone sick.

@adrianchm To be honest - it's not that deep, but it might be due to original hardware and budget limitations. It's still something that should definitely be remastered for modern platforms. Not so sure about the remake though, but if done right - I would play it. Can't be less fun than f.

Yeah, a Bloodborne remake would be cool, but how about Silent Hill: Shattered Memories? Psychological profiling of the player that morphs the game world and affects the ending... I never really had a chance to properly experience it. I would love a proper remake.

@Bravefighter123 @IGN I watched it and as a movie I would also give it 5/10. It really is stretched thin by relying on longshots it also traps itself into having to be fully predictable. The game just isn't a good source material to turn into a movie. It's well adapted, but that doesn't make it good.

@IGN I watched this movie 3 times, in Japan, in HK, and in USA. Just go and watch it, and ignore IGN, they know nothing. this movie is incredible

While some viewers may enjoy Exit 8 for its unsettling atmosphere and solid craft, thinking too hard about the implications of what was added to give this adaptation a more conventional narrative will likely ruin the experience. Our review: bit.ly/47M0ClE

@HakoneD5 A lot of my initial exposure to metal bands was video games. The band I have been a fan of for over 2 decades - Fear Factory - I discovered thanks to Test Drive 6 (and later Carmageddon and Messiah). And not to mention Static-X. And unfortunately (now) Lost Prophets.

Guys when asked "are video games art?" can you bring actual good games as an example and not persona or kingdom hearts

@__silent_ Clearly must be using compute shaders and noise textures for decode pieces of x86 code. In all seriousness, this kind of makes me worried it's a repeat of Village, where the initial cracked version wasn't executing certain parts of game code at all.

Screamer is out now on PC, PS5 and Xbox - and it's a great game! In today's DF Retro, you'll see the origins of the franchise back in the mid-90s, the sequels and spin-offs, and how the OG developers have continued to operate in the arcade racer space: youtu.be/wOrsXMftTWI

@GreenTextRepost It's too bad people haven't played Day of Infamy. It was such a good way to clear out MGs and campers.

@OBookfest @Not3sky_3ks I believe it does. And I think it affects all but a few games, even outside the gaming genre. People really seem to hate anything fun.

@Not3sky_3ks Genuinely lost faith in racing game fans reading people's takes on Screamer. Got me wondering if the lack of cool is coming from inside the house.

Initial VN story isn't great either. It took a really long time for me before it even started rolling, before I came to the conclusion that the story they are trying to tell is actually great. And then being in some Vtuber circles - all of the people I talked with had idea about the game's existence and thought it might be a horror game.

- People seem unsure of the control scheme, and the lack of a demo doesn't help. 2h may not be enough to get a hang of it. - The mindset of "dollars per hour" in pricing hurts Screamer, even though it does have a lot of content - People wanted a story, but don't like VNs I guess
Time Extend Revo@time_extend

Screamer hasn't been a hit out of the gate, with middling word of mouth and a very low player count for a new release. A sign of the times in terms of the appetite for full-price AAA arcade racing games that aren't Horizon; or a confused release strategy from Milestone?

One with alpha preview, one without alpha preview and one with reference (uncompressed, not BC7). Now when I look at it, you can just use NTC Explorer to compress it and it gives you a much better preview of what's going on and how each iteration affects it. And I might be just doing something completely wrong. Just was curious to see, how would VTube Studio texture potentially look if NTC were to be used (considering that VTS has a massive issue with loading textures uncompressed). But considering their example cases consider throwing textures often used to described properties of physical materials of the same surface and related to each other, I can see neural network can probably figure out how all these textures are related to each other much better than just treating each texture separately. I guess for once I am mildly optimistic. Although still annoyed this comes from Nvidia, who still shoves 8 GB of VRAM into their cards.

This one isn't slop. More than 4 Games will be playable on your 500GB SSD thanks to this. No more uninstalling! All AI should be designed to be a tool primarily, no text prompts, no guessing or randomization. It does its task perfectly and creates accessibility.
