@Pokenavs I either need to match his speed or counter it. I can think of a few strategies surrounding either—give him something to compete with, or something he can’t beat down fast enough…

@sunlitten He’s sneakier than he looks. And he’s seen you grow as a trainer, I can imagine. But I’ve heard these days his focus has turned more toward his New Mauville prospects... If you could somehow contrive a new strategy to outspeed him and Manectric, you’d be golden.

@Pokenavs My memory’s sharp, but... maybe not that sharp. Gallade should be a good Probopass check, but... I can’t rely on one Pokémon. I’ll do as you suggest. Watson is... crafty. I did challenge him once. I was humbled.

@sunlitten Roxanne will probably use her Probopass. I’ve never faced it, but I know it’s a tank and it schooled Blue Oak’s entire team in the World Tournament. I’d recommend rewatching unless you recall that match from memory. Watson’s quick, but I think you’re quicker.

@Pokenavs Interestingly enough, I still need to battle Roxanne. And Watson. But that’s about it.

@sunlitten Ha. We might have to take you up on it. Anyway. Sorry to have made this all about me when we were literally talking about you. Which badges are you missing? Maybe I can give you some pointers?

@Pokenavs Ah, that makes sense. I can relate to Gallade… well, if ever he’s feeling antsy, he’s welcome to spar with my own Gallade. Or any of my team.

@sunlitten I rose Gallade telling him that he could be the best fighter in the world. And he was—in Alola. And suddenly now I think he’s finding it difficult to find a purpose.

@Pokenavs Mm. And you should chase those passions. And Gallade… you would think a Pokémon with split evolutions would be understanding of how difficult it is to choose one of multiple paths.

@sunlitten I guess I have...other passions I never had the chance to tap into growing up in small towns. It’s been an internal battle. And a choice Gallade doesn’t agree with always.

@Pokenavs Fortunately, I’ve already made progress on that. I’ll make visits to cities for gym battles, giving Liza time to run the gym by herself. It’s always a shame when I hear about battlers retiring. Especially ones like you, who carry with them a world of potential.

@sunlitten That’s right. Phoebe’s resignation was the catalyst for my move back to Hoenn. But after a break from battling I realized I would prefer to retire. Do you have to start by collecting the badges?

@Pokenavs Well, we both want to grow. But for once, we have different paths set before us to do so. She wants to prove she can run the gym on her own, and I want to take a “swing” at the League. There’s a vacancy in the Elite Four, after all.

@sunlitten That’s a hard decision to make. Do you two agree on who stays and who goes? I could see either option having a great deal of potential.

@Pokenavs I’d be happy to. I’ll try to not get my hopes too high up, as well, but… a museum is an exciting prospect. We’ve actually been thinking of leaving the gym to just one of us, while the other takes their ambitions elsewhere.

@sunlitten Somewhat. Though the final decision is up to the board, which I’m only a small part of. Was hoping you’d give me a tour if that’s not too much to ask. So this outgrowing sounds like something you and Liza have put a lot of thought into.

@sunlitten Two can be a crowd in a gym on an island. Interesting you ask. I was actually looking to possibly move to Mossdeep. There’s been a lot of interest and investors looking into opening a museum here. That’s what I’m here for, actually.

@Pokenavs I haven’t seen Roxanne since the last League gathering... Solrock misses her, and Liza has been eager to have another battle with her… well, with everyone. We may be outgrowing the Gym… Is that so? Enough to consider residing there, someday, maybe?

@sunlitten Its been well. I haven’t seen you since I returned from Alola. I work a lot with Roxanne at the museums in Rustboro. It’s been a challenge reacquainting myself with the seasonal allergens here again. My body favored Alola.
