Rabbi you know the truth. America was founded in 1776. Modern Israel in 1948. America existed nearly 200 years before Israel did, so this only works if you mean ancient Israel at Sinai. Even then, America’s legal heritage came through English common law, Roman jurisprudence, and Christian natural law theology. Locke and Blackstone were on the founders’ desks, not the Talmud. The deepest biblical principle they drew from was the imago Dei in Genesis 1, that every human bears God’s image. That predates Sinai and applies to all people, not one nation. From my Christian view, the Law was a tutor pointing to Christ. Jeremiah 31 promised a New Covenant written on hearts, not stone, open to every nation. America would not exist without the God of Scripture. That God revealed Himself fully in Christ and built His Kingdom through the church. P.s Yeshu ha-Notzri is both yours and my Messiah.

I agree that America would not exist without Israel. Here's why: Through Moses, God gave Israel not only the Ten Commandments, but also a system of law and justice that was revolutionary. The biblical principles of impartial justice, the requirement for evidence and witnesses, due process, and equal treatment under the law helped shape the legal traditions that eventually influenced Western civilization. Those principles became part of the foundation upon which America's constitutional government was built. The idea that rulers are subject to a higher law, that justice cannot be based on the whims of a tyrant, and that people are entitled to a fair hearing all have roots in the Scriptures given to Israel. Israel’s history doesn’t begin in 1948. It goes back to the Exodus, when God formed Israel into a nation and gave it righteous laws and a system of justice. America would not be America without what God first gave to Israel.

Why was Israel's request to see the deal terms rejected? Israel is America's greatest ally. We just fought shoulder to shoulder against a terror regime that wants both Israel and the United States wiped off the map. I don't get it. What am I missing here?

Are you new to religion? Do you understand what a sacrifice is? When an Orthodox Jew sacrifices a chicken, nobody asks the chicken what it’s sacrificing. Sacrifice in the biblical sense isn’t about what the victim permanently loses, it’s about what’s accomplished. What Christ lost was real though: His life, and in that moment on the cross the Father turned His face away as Jesus bore the weight of every sin ever committed. That’s the cost. He’s called the Prince of Peace for a reason. He walked into it willingly because He said let me be the last blood sacrifice so no one else has to bleed for this, and so peace between God and man would finally be possible. Hebrews 10 is the whole argument. The resurrection doesn’t erase the cost. It vindicates it.

Christians believe Jesus was a sacrifice for sin. What did Jesus lose, that made him a sacrifice? Doesn't sacrifice mean you don't get the thing you lose back?
