@emanuelcinca @JMatthewMcGarry Yes, it happens but not nearly as often as general bot sign ups. Pruning still incurs the reputation hit with mailbox providers from the bot signups. Nothing beats COI and a good provider with bot detection on forms.

The most common mistake I see newsletters make: ❌ Double Opt-In 20-40% of subscribers never confirm their email! Then they never hear from you again. It's better to send emails to everyone and remove folks who don't engage after 60-90 days.

@JMatthewMcGarry Because 20-40% of your web form submissions are likely bots submitting either bogus emails or real emails of people that don't want your messages and are going to hurt your reputation. If you're not using confirmed opt-in you're building a list full of bots.

@ContentScienti1 Read receipts are almost universally unsupported and unsent these days. If that's what you're using to register an "open" then I'd expect most to log zero. "Opens" in the email marketing platform world are measured by an image being loaded by the recipients email client.
