Our signal to the United States and countries in the Middle East about the Strait of Hormuz was that we were open to discussing it. As of today, I don't see any country lifting the blockade on its own, only joint steps can bring results. Ukraine has experience with launching the Grain Corridor in the Black Sea despite Russia’s attempts to block the flow of food and other goods. The situation now is similar, but it is about energy. Our suggestion – based on our experience – was as follows. The war and the negotiations on reopening the Hormuz Strait can go in parallel. It’s worth trying to find a diplomatic solution, and this could be beneficial for both sides in the war. An alternative step would be to control the Strait unilaterally, as Ukraine did with the Grain Corridor. Achieving this would require interceptors, military convoys to escort the vessels, a large integrated electronic warfare network, and other tools. We stand ready to help with this. But for now, we are not yet involved. So far, no one has made such a request. We are simply sharing our knowledge. If one day our partners want to make use of it, we would be ready. I held a coordination call today at the level of the Government and all our regions on the situation in the energy sector. We are already preparing for the next winter and gradually restoring what Russian strikes destroyed last winter. Resilience plans have been approved across the country for every region. Road repairs are also underway after the winter. It is important – at the community level, at the level of regional authorities – not to lose time. Every important facility must be protected. There are clear tasks for the regions and major cities regarding alternative generation and the restoration of facilities. Government officials have now ensured the necessary resources and decisions to add cogeneration units to the system. 245 facilities across the country are already in progress – and we started this work despite a lack of funding. The European support package of €90 billion for Ukraine remains blocked. And this is a problem that Europeans cannot find a solution and deliver on what was promised. €5 billion from this package was supposed to go specifically toward preparing Ukraine for the next winter and for rapid recovery. We expect that a solution will still be found. For now, we are working with the resources we have, and I am grateful to the Government for this work – to everyone in regional authorities and cities who is helping. Protecting the energy sector and our critical infrastructure is an absolute priority.

As a European, I am not afraid that the USA will leave NATO. We already know that they do not have good intentions to Europe and that we, therefore, have to build our defence to be able to fight without the Americans. We are well on our way and it will happen a lot faster if the USA leaves NATO officially. Russia is too weak and small to be a long term threat to Europe. They simple can not match what we can produce. As long as we keep Ukraine from falling, Russia is also not a threat to us in the short term. So if the USA leaves NATO, it is simple for us: Keep Ukraine from falling at all costs and build up European defence and weapon production as fast as humanly possible. We can and we will do that and Europe will be absolutely fine and safe.

Ukraine is participating in all formats of engagement with our partners for more security and shared strength. We continue to work with countries that are currently under attack by the Iranian regime. New arrangements have been reached, and Ukraine will have an even greater presence in the new security formats. This will certainly strengthen Ukraine's export potential and defense capabilities.
