@twentigcom That’s a great take 👌 I felt the same friction while testing plugins/themes, so I built a small Chrome extension. It adds “Try in Playground” directly on WordPress.org theme/plugin pages, so you can instantly launch and test without setup. chromewebstore.google.com/detail/wp-play…

WordPress Playground is underrated. One of the biggest problems in WordPress onboarding is having to commit before you can really see the result. So we embedded Playground into every starter site page, letting anyone try, customize, and export first. 👇

@RinodeBoer After much testing, I finally settled on Twentig. For me, it had the right balance of lightweight extra design controls plus some starter layouts, without it going too far outside the box with UI.

After testing free Gutenberg Block themes and plugins for 2 days total I can confidently say that the experience is quite messy. All these companies are just doing their own thing because WordPress doesn't give them any rules. Many different UI's, options. A clear path is missing. So for people that use Block Themes professionally, a serious question: What paid Gutenberg stack do you guys use? Spectra? Greenshift? GenerateBlocks? I feel like Gutenberg is only workable if you just pick 1 pro paid stack. Otherwise you will go crazy.

Happy Ventoux Day! The Tour de France tackled it today, bringing back brutal memories of when I cycled up it a few years ago. Still one of the toughest climbs I’ve ever faced.
