Hate to say it but the point of Jax's story ISN'T that she doesn't want her gender identity to be made a defining part of herself, but that she DIED FOR REPRESSING IT. You are directly told "Jax killed herself because she couldn't open up." And saying we shouldn't want her to.

@vidboy_etc i'm not ignoring your point, I just don't agree with it. jax is incredibly mentally ill in my eyes. the point of fictional characters is to find what about them you can relate to the most. calling anyone else "wrong" for their views not aligning with yours, is just... ridiculous

@vidboy_etc but that happens in the real world. a lot of cis men are ashamed of say, liking to crossdress and be submissive. i'm sure some men end their lives over it. just because you don't think that's the case with jax, doesn't mean other people aren't allowed to think it is

@chimera_boi people used to "come out" to their parents or friends as bronies back in the day. sort of like admitting to them "hey, I'm a guy but I like this really girly thing.. i hope you don't think different because of that.." it's not uncommon for cis males to be ashamed of that

@marupan_desu the mom was pestering Jax over masculinity/femininity. the only narrative way it makes sense is if jax said "Im a girl"
for it to be "I like girl things" makes no sense. the mom already knows/suspects this. her response now makes no sense: first denying it and then hugging Jax
