If the name "Markdown" weren't valuable @codinghorror would have used a different one. I like the project. My only objection is the name.

@ashfurrow But Atwood even said the it was Standard Flavor Markdown before it went live. The removal of "flavor" implies a lot.

@ashfurrow I would've sided with Standard Markdown if they did. But action from a non-response to a single emails feels inconsiderate.

@ashfurrow Actually yes, a different name. Why not? Let the implementation win on it's own merits instead of riding on name recognition.
