Some obscene salaries here, though I don't believe Wycombe are paying Alex Lowry 9.5k a week when the only football he's played this year is against Slough Town in the county cup.

@SMc_1974 @KieranMaguire The smaller clubs in the Greater London/Home Counties ecosystem have often picked up rough diamonds cast off by the bigger teams. It won't necessarily generate megabucks soon, but it's rare a youth system starting from scratch would do until many years down the line.

@will__sp @KieranMaguire I get the business model but 80% of clubs in L2 & L1 are running academies (obvs different Categories) in the hope that they are revenue generators. That in itself is cost & risk in a competitive market, particularly where they are located close to ‘bigger’ clubs. #costcontrol

@WycombeDJ @AlbzSFC So was Dai Yongge. This level of spending at a club our size is hugely dangerous if the individual bankrolling it doesn't stay the course.

@AndyPreston96 Amazing that he can’t even afford £45k which amazingly is cheaper than the pyrotechnics for the season, so fund a women’s team or have fireworks for 30 seconds each match, I do appreciate he does love fireworks but 🤷♂️

@KieranMaguire So fascinating when Club accounts are released and the claim/perception that football is full of riches yet most clubs don’t even break even - That includes PL clubs too. So dangerous relying on debt, owner funding etc to keep a float - Just not sustainable or is it in football🤔

@KieranMaguire Football is the Wild West now. This is mad stuff for L1. £10m loss & £20m borrowing to be 9th in L1. If Duffo moves on & they have one bad season this house of cards is in serious danger. Football clubs are now in a perpetual state of searching for sugar daddies - so depressing!

@GasmanCOTN It would be interesting to see how much is capital expenditure and how much is from the wage bill. Still very worrying times for the long-term stability of the club, now effectively existing at the whim of its chief creditor.

Appreciate this ban affects all fans but Brighton fans have been advised that coins and phone power banks are banned from the Stadium of Light and there will be ‘enhanced searching’.

Twelve hours of travel plus the match itself on a single charge is pushing it.
As for coins, I’ve never assaulted anyone with a 20 pence coin before, but is that how football fans are seen these days?
