@staysaasy The only real accountability for reviewers at my org is that regression rate is a team-wide metric, but that also disperses the accountability, and doesn't highlight individuals who are particularly good or bad at reviewing. Would be curious to hear what others do.

Vibe coding makes code review one of the most important skills of the modern software era.
So it’s good that basically in every software company reviewing code is a well defined, well trained, high enablement activity, right?
It’s great that PR review isn’t some kind of totally undefined activity that people do without real oversight, training, or accountability.
Right?

@staysaasy Is this a mistake because they likely won't get recognized appropriately for their (nearly invisible) work, or because it's actually a poor model to have someone on the team doing this?

@doug_sartori @codeopinion Our customers (electrical utilities) don't care, but they often have consultants helping them design RFP processes, and consultants will throw those questions on there. I've never had a follow up question though, once I fill out some basic details on the spreadsheet.

@clay_snowden2 I almost caught this home run - I was in right field with my kids at their first game. They are Parker Meadows fans, needless to say!

@codeopinion Deployment tooling has been good enough for long enough that most orgs have a decent setup. Organizational barriers to faster deploys seem like they're not going anywhere quickly
English

A pile of interesting responses. I get the sense reasons for slow/fast are organization rather than technical.

How quickly can you deploy to production, from making a code change locally in your editor to it being in your production environment?
English

@galkon @sarah_edo But whenever I do start to code, I feel like there are "more important" things I could be doing, rather than things (coding) that I could probably delegate. Like you said, hard to balance.
English

@sarah_edo This was the hardest dynamic for me to balance as CTO. I love to code and build things and have deep involvement in the architecture of things.

@anishgiri Lichess has those Maia bots that are trained to play human-like at specific rating levels. Training a Maia bot at 2800 strength and having it do the evaluation might work, but there might not be enough human games at that level to train a bot on?
