@ShamashAran I just don't know how you make animal farm a kids movie, but maybe I will give it a try.

"Rilee Stewart and Brock Goodwin always imagined having several children... But that vision shifted once they settled into their 2,000-sq-foot house with a $3,200 mortgage... They realized that even with one child, they would most likely need more space." nytimes.com/2026/04/26/bus…

@physicsgeek No kidding. It wasn't even Virginia. It was the part DC gave us back.

@roddreher She basically asked why people shouldn't try to kill him. No, that doesn't seem like journalism. That sounds like a struggle session.

I don't know why Trump blamed the journalist for asking about the allegations in the would-be assassin's manifesto. They were disgusting allegations, yes, but any reporter would ask for POTUS's response. He was unfair to Norah O'Donnell. axios.com/2026/04/26/tru…

Political violence is not a “both-sides” problem. It’s also not a fringe problem. It comes from the mainstream Right.

The same Virginia Dems who are trying to disenfranchise half the state are pissing and moaning about Florida redistricting and gaining those 4 seats back for Republicans. Maybe if they worried more about VIRGINIA, and not leveling the playing field so Hakeem Jeffries can be Speaker of the House, this wouldn't be an issue.

Fox has published my column on the recent lower court ruling rejecting a challenge to Virginia's gerrymandering. What is striking is how these courts have effectively read key terms out of the Virginia Constitution. foxnews.com/opinion/jonath…

@Major_Ferret @travis4nh Both terms and eligibility of applicants need changes. Kids shouldn't be able to sign for a loan without showing that their reasonable earning potential from their degree is sufficient to repay the loan in a given time. OTOH, we need repayment reform and bankruptcy protection

@travis4nh To be fair, it's illegal to have minimum payments below the interest accrual in the vast majority of loan types. Student loans are a conspicuous outlier.

I said I don’t like communists. Since when is communist a race?
Mike. No, the other one.@WeezSays

@harukaawake Shut up, you conservative bitch. No one cares about your opinion there, let alone here. You can keep your racist shit in Japan. We have enough of our own. We aren't like you. You come for one of us, you come for all of us. You can't break these lines with your bullshit.

Now in a court near you is The Lobster, a monster over 100 miles long. The only saving grace is that this creature only devours Republicans, leaving roughly half the state with virtually no representation in Congress. jonathanturley.org/2026/04/28/inc…

There is no way people in Japan are eating burgers this damn big. That’s got to be AI. Even most Americans wouldn’t order stuff like that.

@the_thin_place Utter nonsense, really poor history. The doctrine and practice of the Church in 1600 was substantially identical with that in 1500, not to mention the obvious institutional continuity, which no Protestant body had. Tightening discipline does not make a new Church.

"Not a single Christian group in the West survived the Reformation unchanged. Even the Roman Church emerged a very different entity than that of the medieval church. The Council of Trent so thoroughly reformed those churches who remain loyal to the papacy, that it can be justly said that the medieval church we have described in the last two chapters disappeared from the scene. . . it is important to remember that none of the churches which emerge from this great upheaval can claim the past is exclusively their own. The modern Roman Catholic Church started in the 16th century just as surely as the Lutheran or Calvinist churches." (Dr. Gary Macy, The Banquet's Wisdom, pg. 172)
