Don’t be obtuse to force fit a narrative. He did not use Durant’s quote to make a theological statement in any way (I’m not a fan of Bibi, so nice try). “No prejudice in favor of Christ as against Genghis Khan” in other words, the cosmos doesn’t inherently favor moral goodness over brute force, outcomes depend on who wields power effectively. He has made reference to this multiple times in the past, this being the first time it’s been spun in this way (shocker). He’s always used it in the same geopolitical context, not to attack Jesus. How can you suggest that he agreed with the statement when he framed it as an “unfortunate” or unhappy observation?
