For Scotland who hosted the first international, invented the modern passing game, had multiple European Cup winners, a Ballon d'Or, and by far the highest % of domestic attendance… to never get out the group at a World Cup is shameful. Well done to the SFA.

@victimsofcomics Too many people in Scotland are more concerned about Rangers beating Celtic, or Celtic beating Rangers 4+ times a year than whether Scotland do well internationally, or for that matter Scottish clubs doing well in Europe. It's just small-mindedness IMO.

@victimsofcomics Let’s not underplay the achievements of yesteryear. In previous years, Scotland have reached the ‘last 16’ of the World Cup & the ‘last 8’ of the Euros. In WC’74 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 had the 9th best record, in Euro‘92 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 had the 5th best record of competing teams, heck of an achievement.

@victimsofcomics Looking back it is astonishing that - say - the 1974 team didn't do well when most of the squad played in the English Div 1. It is even more amazing that Scotland failed to qualify for 1966 or 1970. Something goes seriously wrong when Scotsmen pull on a Scotland shirt.
