Now that datafests across the country have concluded, I wanted to share that my team won Best in Group at the Five College Datafest 2026!

We analyzed real patient journey data from a Kansas hospital network to answer why patients with manageable chronic conditions keep ending up in the ER instead of primary care?

The answer was that social barriers like food insecurity, housing instability, and transportation pushed them out of primary care

We also found that when barriers stack, risk explodes non-linearly. This led to four recommendations for the hospital network.

Huge shoutout to my teammates Jinu, Shivansh, and Sonny - we called ourselves Team LLMao and I think that alone deserved an award. We built the analysis in Python, visualized in @matplotlib & seaborn (@michaelwaskom), presented to a panel of industry judges!
