@maximum Years ago one during the Halo: CE craze on the original X-Box one of the Bungie devs did a talk called "No one cares about your story and that's ok." Gameplay and combat matter the most. It is only when those are great that people will begin to care about the story in a game.

@maximum Movies are just an inherently better way of telling a story and the writing in the best of them is elevated by the directing, acting, music etc. and what it adds up as a whole. Also I think great writing talent dont gravitate towards video games.
