@michaelpollan While it's not a classical 5-HT2A psychedelic, I'm pretty sure the guy that invented methoxetamine (NMDA antagonist similar to ketamine) did so in order to treat his phantom limb pain. It was the most successful out of the compounds in this series he synthesised for treating it.
