Fun fact: my 1st job in govt was as a Scheduling Asst to a Cabinet Minister. Lots of ppl assumed, and treated me as if I knew nothing. Maybe true for policy matters, but everything else? I knew it all. #GR101: be nice to the schedulers!

@msaundersTO How did I not know this about your career?! :) The schedulers are *absolutely* one of the most important roles to respect in politics.. how do you get a Minister to show up to an event? Become well-respected acquaintances with the Scheduler ;)

@msaundersTO Same here! One of my first orders of business was cancelling a visit to a stakeholder because of a cabinet retreat. They were not my biggest fan that day, but warmed up eventually!

@msaundersTO @LWaler I was a constituency assistant and people assumed I was a secretary. No secretarial diploma on my wall. When I left they went through 7 people in 8 months. V
