As much as I dislike a lot of what Germany does, this is massively overblown. No German citizen is currently affected by this. It would only apply to conscripts, and conscription has been suspended in Germany since 2011. That said, it’s still a typical L move by Germany, considering there have been ongoing discussions about bringing conscription back.
