Just optimized my DHT (via DHT maxxing). Suddenly overcome with an urge to post pictures of men in boat shoes smoking cigarettes and drinking cappuccino to the X app. This is what our ancestors must have felt like every day.

@pliskin1roquois Thank you for reading. Yeah, going through the history makes it really apparent how many wrong turns were taken in the development of the field of biology.

@032ilysm Great read. It’s ironic that the bleeding edge of biology has mostly been left in the past.

@stag________ And then the Buddhist would proceed to destroy the possibility of knowledge and objective truth, thereby rendering his own position invalid

The Thomist would say: “since existence is contingent, God is the thing existence is contingent on” The Buddhist would say: “since existence is contingent, it cannot be called existence”
Paulus@StYvesWannabe

Reading about Buddhism makes it seem like a religion where someone followed Aquinas's proofs of God by the way of efficient causality, potentiality and actuality, possibility and necessity - but instead of arriving at God said, "huh, so nothing exists after all".

Walter Kempner’s Rice Diet helped thousands of patients reverse type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure—and lose substantial weight. The design was simple: • Extremely low sodium. • Up to ~92% of calories from carbs (mostly rice, fruit, and fruit juice). • Added vitamins/minerals (A, D, B1, B2, B3, B5, and sometimes iron). • Caloric deficit. Yes: the weight loss still required eating less, but keeping fat and protein low—especially early—was crucial in fixing their metabolic problems. Carbs do not inherently cause insulin resistance: the inability to oxidize them does. What gets in the way of cleanly oxidizing carbs? • Micronutrient shortfalls; hence the vitamins and minerals. • Elevated FFAs/excessive FAO blunting glucose use; hence the fat restriction. • Elevated BCAAs; hence the protein restriction. There are many ways to improve glucose handling that are less extreme, but the same core principles apply. Note: In light of what we now know about Na:K ratios being more predictive of blood pressure than isolated sodium intake, Kempner’s extreme sodium restriction was likely unnecessary. It would be interesting to see a modern parallel group trial on extreme high-carb + vitamins/minerals vs. extreme keto + vitamins/minerals in T2D and more. Tay et al. 2015 isn't good enough.

Lo@artofwifehood

Wouldn’t this exacerbate insulin resistance in an already overweight woman? Seems like these carb maxxing plans are really effective for already fit girls who have 5-15lbs to lose, but maybe a disaster for someone with chronic metabolic disregulation? I honestly have no idea…for every woman trying to lose weight there’s 100’s telling her high fat keto, and 100’s telling her low fat high carb 😔😖 Curious to know if you have results from clients using a CGM on this protocol.

Take this with a grain of salt since it’s just one cell line, but with the focus on GLP-1 agonists now, I needed to say some thing GLP-1 can stimulate type 3 deiodinase in in an insulinoma cell line, meaning that it can deactivate the active thyroid hormone T3 into T2
