Grown men threw their hands in the air, shouting "ALHAMDULILLAH!" at the top of their lungs because a "kafir" (Christian) was gone. Across the street? Same thing. Pure jubilation. Dancing. Smiles. I stood there frozen, thinking: What kind of religion is this? What kind of brainwashed soul cheers the death of another human being just because he's from a different faith? How do you become so heartless, so callous, that a man's death becomes your victory party? That was the day I realised a lot of us are being taught to hate non Muslims, and we do not even hide it anymore. The mask slips the second one of "them" dies. This is not "just a few extremists." This was an entire mosque. Normal people. On a normal day. If this does not disturb you, it should. What kind of faith turns human tragedy into a celebration?

I saw many videos of the incident that happened at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), and most people are already spreading unconfirmed information that it was cúlt-related. What shocked me most was how many people were busy taking videos and pictures of the victims inside the car. I even saw some people dragging for space just to record better videos, and these were not journalists. Nobody cared to ask how they could help or what could be done. People were simply taking pictures, recording videos, and walking away. 😥
