One of the challenging things about option selling is the p/l ugliness that isn’t really ugly. Take for example these $gtlb 24c expiring today. Says I am down 4000% and worth $2.15c The reality is they are worth $0 and a gain of 100%! The more volatile it gets, the more likely your actual p/l is severely misaligned from the stated p/l However if you are long options, your option value is highly inflated. This makes your p/l look a lot better than it is. Just another trap for newbies and degens.
