actual answer: nintendo is exceptionally litigious in their use of the “early stages” of copyright/IP enforcement (ex. c&d’s, dmca takedowns), even on uses that could be reasonably construed as parody. they notably don’t do this when the parody is done by groups w legal resources at their fingertips (see the old PETA parodies of mario and pokemon). dmca’ing a federal agency comes with both the reasonably high likelihood of a counter-claim, a charged white house/dhhs response, and a media cycle involving nintendo “taking a political stance against the US gov.” they dont want any of the above. thats why a brief but firm press statement emphasizing a lack of authorization is usually the extent of their response (see: pokemon company response to ICE posts) their suit against the US gov re: tariffs is irrelevant. this is the standard process companies will have to go thru to recollect unconstitutional tariffs in a timely manner since the federal gov has no plan on how to reimburse companies on their own. theyre one of several thousand consumer product companies going thru this process including trump/trump-adjacent donors and companies w ceo’s who are donors (apple, home depot, fedex) not defending/denouncing, just sharing since some ppl seem actually confused

@OndrejStrasky @Xioshiva I'd argue his ID skills are amazing - melee pairing skills suck. Pairing two 11-1s with 10-2s for no reason whatsoever, when they can play against themselves is wild.

MTG has developed as a game/community in the exact opposite way as smash. the rise of commander over everything else is like if smash started in its competitive 1v1 state by default but then someone invented free for alls with items and it took over the game

the biggest mistake of the rebuilds is doing literally nothing with her. just 15 minutes worth of exposition or backstory could’ve saved her but they didn’t even give her that

Daylight Saving Time is hilarious when you think about it. Humans: “Let’s move the clocks forward so we get more daylight.” The sun: literally ignores us and rises at the same time it always would. All we actually accomplish is losing an hour of sleep and confusing everyone for a week. How this is still a thing in 2026 is beyond me.
