This parallels how to think about Satoshi Relics:
Each one is generated directly from a real Bitcoin transaction.
Even if Bitcoin were to disappear, the artifact itself would still preserve the record.
They take native Bitcoin transactions, proof-of-work records, and render them into historic, human-legible, ownable artifacts.

Here’s a neat bit of history:
This Satoshi Relic was generated from the first known Bitcoin transaction attributed to @VitalikButerin.
Sent on April 23, 2011, this 5 BTC payment is believed to be Vitalik’s first Bitcoin earnings and among the earliest known wages ever paid in Bitcoin.
At 17, he posted on Bitcointalk offering writing and translation work. Bitcoin Weekly took him up on it, paying him in BTC for his contributions.
A piece of Bitcoin history before anyone knew how much it would matter.

A node can preserve ledger data. It can validate blocks, replicate state, and carry forward the chain’s raw record. What it cannot do on its own is preserve why a particular block mattered, why a given transaction became historically significant, or why any of it should remain meaningful to future generations. Replication preserves data. It does not preserve remembrance.

The ninth peer-to-peer transaction ever. One of just 19 in Bitcoin’s first 1,000 blocks.
We generated a Satoshi Relic from it, preserving the record and inscribing that history on Bitcoin.
