Over the past few days I've been discussing the capacity for the market to make a more sustained downside move and the psychological considerations we need to have when that happens. There's a couple of expansion points and now the look into the other end of the psychological extreme that will be achieved. 1. Time. Remember that these things usually take some time, the market has been red for a few days now and a green day will turn a lot of people immediately back into the "IT WAS THE BOTTOM" mindset. This usually means marketing in to coins, upping the leverage, and overexposing to the market again. Unfortunately it doesn't mean it's true. Be careful you don't put too much weight against a single green day, especially after aggressive selling. The market will bounce, it will turn green, it will be very green potentially, but it does not mean the bottom is in. 2. In order to deal with that you need to think about slow and steady exposure, re-exposure or strengthening of established positions as price chops around. You're not buying because you expect it to be the bottom, you're buying because you believe it represents good value in the longer term for your portfolio. But you need to be able to survive through any chop or prolonged period of time in which the market doesn't reverse. Slow and steady, small amounts, always prepared for more downside, always happy if it arrives. Once again, your risk management is absolutely the single most important thing right now.
