"Christ is King" is a phrase that not only means many thing, it means everything. It is the central, core, unchangeable claim of the Christian faith that Jesus Christ, the incarnate Word of God, is King and Lord of all. This is not a small claim. This is not a weak claim. We boldly profess that the Creator, the Author of Life, the God of Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham, He who hung the heavens and placed the earth, was born into Creation fully as man and was nailed to a cross for our salvation. You cannot call yourself a Christian if this is not the most important truth in your heart. This is a truth for which millions upon millions have laid their life defending. The churches in the West have failed to impart this faith unto their congregants. The West has invented a concept of a weak God, of a feminine Jesus, of a lackluster church. The chief reason behind this is that the real Christ, the real Father, the real Holy Spirit, are terrifying to the enemies of God. The same God who breathed life into man is the same God which destroyed the earth by water and destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah by fire and brimstone. He is the only one with the power and authority to blot one's existence out of the Book of Life and He is the selfsame that has given us the path towards eternal life by His glorious death and resurrection. We, as faithful Christians, do NOT worship a weak God. We do NOT affirm, placate, and entertain blasphemy against the Lord of all Creation. We do not cast judgement against those who do not have the Truth in them, but we do not bow or concede to those who deny the Son. As Saint John the Theologian eloquently stated: "Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also" - 1 John 2:23. There is no "wiggle room" given by the Lord in this statement. Just before this statement he provides more context: "Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us." - 1 John 2:18-19. I do not say these things in an attempt at condemning or judging individuals or groups of people - that is not my place or my authority. I say these things directed at others who call themselves Christian. We are to keep our faith in the Lord who created and saved us. Those who fashion themselves against Christ Jesus will be dealt with at the end of the age, and not by our hand. The dread judgement seat of Christ will see that His enemies are put away, along with satan and his angels. The Lord shows us every bit the same amount of patience and love as He shows His enemies. We should live out our repentance in fear and trembling of the Risen Lord, the Living God who is holy, mighty, and immortal. The Kingdom of God is truly at hand and we are meant to be His faithful servants. You cannot serve two masters and our Master is the One above all things. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever and unto ages of ages, Amen.
